STERILIZING FACE SHIELD COMPONENTS

Carefully remove visor from headband and sterilize the components separately:

Headband

Materials: polyester strap, silicone band, bronze snaps

The green polyester headband can be sterilized in the dishwasher. Lay it flat so heat doesn’t distort the shape.

Or use soap and water, alcohol, diluted bleach, disinfectant wipes, or other EPA-approved soaps/ sanitizers. Ammonia-containing disinfectants are not recommended.

Clear Visor

Material: acetate

The clear visor can be sterilized with soap and water, alcohol, diluted bleach, disinfectant wipes or other EPA-approved soaps/ sanitizers. Don’t use glass cleaners like Windex (or anything containing ammonia) because they’ll fog up the acetate. Wipe both sides thoroughly (preferably with a soft cloth) then wipe off any soapy residue with water.

Sweatband

Material: cotton

Wash sweatband in the laundry, or with soap and water. Two sweatbands are included so that one can be worn while the other is in the wash.

Take care when removing the clear visor from the headband. The longer its holes can be preserved, the longer the visor will remain viable. Tension holding the visor in position will loosen over time. Keep the headband and replace visors when necessary!
